You, Sir, are clearly unfamiliar with the Aquarius Destroyer.

The Fleet Cheyenne / Heavy Cruiser is underrated, IMO.

For one, TAC station wise it is like the Assault Cruiser.

Secondly, it still rocks the heavy BOFF stations of a traditional Cruiser.

Thirdly, the turn rate is among the best for all Starfleet Cruisers. Only the Excelsior ties it with a turn rate of 8, which is miles above what most Starfleet Cruisers are currently at.

I have the Fleet Heavy Cruiser for my Fed ENG. It's rugged, handles pretty decently, and presenting fire arcs isn't a chore. Compared to flying a Galaxy or even the Sovereigns, it's a pleasure to use, yet still feel robust due to the ENG-heavy nature of the ship. I also use a dual Aux2Batt + Technician DOFFs build on this ship, so power isn't an issue. The build also cuts down on BOFF ability cooldowns, so you get to really maximize the usage of whatever BOFF skills you throw aboard. I have a single EPTS3, and rest assured, that sucker is always on, while still having room for an optional EPTW for more "oomph."

Now, is it worth it? If you want a better version, but less hull than the Assault Cruiser (not talking about Regent), the Fleet Hvy Cruiser is nice.

But if you have an Excelsior already, you have cheaper access to the Fleet Excelsior. If you have that kind of access, then I would go that route than getting the Fleet Hvy Cruiser. You can still run an Aux2Batt build with the Excelsior while retaining good offensive and defensive qualities.

Edit to add: The Fleet Excelsior is more balanced with good ENG & TAC BOFF options. But the Fleet Hvy Cruiser's strong ENG BOFF stations make it markedly superior in sturdiness even with less hull. Alot more playroom with survivability or support abilities that use the ENG slots.

I enjoy the ship, both the older pre-Galaxy look & her rugged performance. Even armed - as I prefer - with retrofit phaser banks & photon torpedoes she always holds her own.
