While the joke about what comes after death was kinda cute, once again just like the Buffed and Maximum PC articles that you linked to earlier today, this article also has absolutely no new information.

So Rekhan. How about some information on Klingons? Stormshade said in IRC today that Klingon information was coming "very very soon." Does that mean before Christmas? How about November?

i agree while it did make some things more clear, it starting to sound more and more like a broken record.

I'm getting tired of these too but I suppose it's understandable given the nature of PR cycles. I'm hoping the delay is from them re-working the Klingon faction or adding additional story driven content that players asked for. Hope the wait is worth it...

Mikx: In an interview, a developer stated that science vessels now innately target subsystems. Is that still the case, and how does that work?

Science vessels have the innate ability to target an enemies subsystems weapons, shields, engines or auxiliary. When you activate this ability, your beam weapons will weaken, or "debuff", that subsystem. There is also a chance the attack will take that system offline for a short while. Some Bridge Officers also have a skill to target subsystem. These skills are better than the innate versions available to all science vessels, but they are limited to targeting a specific subsystem. So any ship can target subsystems if they have a Bridge Officer that has the skill, but you will need to dedicate 4 Bridge Officer skill slots to have access to all 4.
I believe this specific information is new. We were aware that science ships could target this way, but not individual Boff skills, and it gives me some ideas. Specifically, having a science officer on my cruiser helping me take out enemy engines so that they're sitting ducks for my larger phaser arrays, and preventing them from revolving around me to the weakened side.

I asked the question about the Science ship subsystem targeting, and got some clarification. Once we heard that bridge officers could also target, I wondered if it had gone away. Now, we know that they are different: Science ship subsystem targeting is innate, but weaker than the Bridge Officer version (which would theoretically free up Boff slots on Science ships)

Plus, we got info on how subsystem targeting would work: A debuff with a chance to take it completely offline. It sounds like a great system, and since it mostly debuffs the shields, I may have to rethink making a science ship based on targeting shields and firing torpedoes.

If you're unsatisfied with the answers, some of that is dependent on the questions asked. They answered 2 of mine, although, on the bridge officer skills, that one I felt was a partial answer. I think the way it would work is every officer has access to up to 2 skills at a time, even though they have 4 skills in their repertoire.

I'm pleased with that, as it adds the depth/combinations of a Guild Wars style "chose your skills" system. You have to chose what you want to take into every battle, instead of having all your skills in every encounter.
