# 1 Are BOFF traits stackable ?
05-29-2013, 12:56 PM
I have all my Boff's as Suarian or Borg due to their traits of +7.5 Warp Core efficiency.

My question is.... Do they stack ? Is it worth having them all the same which gives me the extra power to my disruptors on my escort or would it be better to have some others with other traits ?

Saurians do stack, both with themselves, and a 'Efficient' Captain...

However, the effects of 'Efficient' are mostly on settings you have on low power settings. (e.g. Aux & Engines) On power settings above 50, the 'Efficient' effects start to get reduced, and goes away completely on power settings 75 and above...

So 'Efficient' is unlikely to help your disruptors unless you go into full defensive power mode. But the increased power on the lower set systems will help your defense, sensors and repair abilities...

Now if there is something better, really depends on your individual play style, and you're going to have to decide that...

Interesting, thanks for the great reply.

Since my power levels rarely get to low maybe I should look at other Boff's instead then ?

What other species have traits ? Only ones I can find are humans with Regen hull traits. I am thinking these might be better to stack instead ? Are there others ? I could only manage a quick check through the exchange before we come down for the dialy 3 hour maintanence of late....

'Efficient' is actually better then it first appears, as it appears it is calculated on the actually raw power setting, and before additional bonuses from engine sets consoles and devices are added in... With 3 or more 'Efficient' BOs, the effects are significant.

The thing is, even with a minimal power setting and a full suite of efficient boffs, you're still only looking at maybe +4 or so power in those minimized power settings. It can help you get a dumped power setting back up to average level, but your own warp core skills and your ship's warp core will be far more significant.

Aside from Leadership, there's also Romulan boffs with Subterfuge (bonus to cloaking) and Operative (bonus to crit chance and severity and cloaking). So if you're not flying a cloak-capable ship, Operative is about the only one that has a significant effect. If you're not a Romulan player, I think the main way to get Romulan boffs is through a fleet embassy.

I am a fed player for now, will start adding other toons at a later date.

I like the idea of Crit chance to be added and severity also so I might look into some of those. I must admit I have noticed a significant amount of DMG increase since having all my Boff's with Efficiency but I think swapping 1-2 of them out won't harm things to much and crit chance/severity would be a most welcome addition.

I guess there are non that add to accuracy ?
