Hmmmm..... that reminds me of how some of the early speculation was that the Elachi had varying mob sizes/qualities and that some people's problems were that they had more enemies to deal with than others did. I'm not sure if it's true, but it seems plausible.
Now your tempting me to go back on tribble and run it a third time to varify this. After last nights run through this theory seems quite plausable. One of the other experiences i had last night as well was the Elachi capital ships moving off to their own space away from the support vessels and remainder of their fleet.. At one point, I had to fly around a third of the map trying to find them..
I finally got to play this one. The battle is fine until the last part, which is absurd. All your allies are repairing all the time, if you decloak close to the main ships its poof, one hit death.
I started out by taking out all but one of the battleships one at a time and their support craft, they were on the outer edges, didn't die.
The capital ship, 2 dreadnaughts and a battleship, alone with a host of frigates, escorts and fighters are all clustered up tight together.
I basically had to sucicide run one of the dreadnaughts 3-4 times to kill it, cloak, alpha strike and die. Luckily their hulls don't repair.
There is a whole bunch of problems.
The friendly ships are way way outnumbered, they also can't deal with endless frigate, escort and fighter spam.
The massive area weapons the enemies use are so frequent they finish off your friendlies in one hit as soon as they heal.
If enemy small ships can respawn endlessly, then make friendly small ships respawn endlessly. Otherwise they need to die and stay dead, then at least you have some hope of containing the ship.
The one hit and you die thing has been raged at forever and we do it again? why? there is no way to tell what ship has the green waves out, they are everywhere. Beyond getting viral matrixed every 10s, escaping that massive area isn't easy.
The end of the battle looks and feels ridiculous, arguing on the forums that its possible or not is just a waste of time. Nothing feels like an invasion force, and the defense force is a joke as well.
Video proof or I don't believe it, honestly, I don't believe anyone can just run in and smash up that last round.
Your ships are just way too outnumbered, and I was one shotted 3 times in the battle.
If you are a veteran level 50 player with full out rep gear, it could be done. This isn't what the episode is intended for. You don't have the counters for viral matrixes, the power levels to evade the area attacks constantly, while destroying ships and taking damage. This is a low 30s episode.
Well, I was L39 with whatever junk I'd acquired so far in the story. My strategy was to shoot whichever Elachi ship was closest and keep doing that until I made my way to the command ship. My D'D was setup to spam Eng powers to increase ship power. Veril had Aux2Batt2 as her third skill and my other eng had eptw and EPtS as well.
EDIT: this isn't to say that I think the mission is "fine". I think it's a little too hard. But I beat it as-is.
