Walkers are pinched from WOTW and the Elachi seem to be from XCOM.
Bit like the Tholian Carriers seem to be a pinched design from the original Blakes7 Liberator.
They do seem to pinch alot of stuff lol.

Because flying saucers are cool? And alien?

Alien? That is very arbirary.
They can just as well be a terran ship design...like in the 1960's German TV series "Raumpatrouille"

If Cryptic ever take STO into the Delta Quadrant they could add in the Briori who were said, by the humans living on that planet, to have ships similar looking to Voyager. So I'd imagine they had ships that had a saucer and two nacelles.

EVANSVILLE: We're human. You're working for the Briori. They have ships like yours.

Does this mean "similar"?

Actually, since the Briori were apparently flying around Earth in the mid-20th Century they would be likely candidates to have exactly the sort of ship the OP's talking about.

And "Ships like yours" likely just means "Ships that fly in space."
