Well i seen this coming, after all the original timeline was getting shot full of holes, and the last movie bombed really bad at the box office.
Here is what is being reported:
?HOLLYWOOD, CA (June 27, 2013) ? Skydance Productions, Annapurna Pictures and Paramount Pictures have jointly announced they will partner on a rebooted ?TERMINATOR? movie, to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 26, 2015.
The first in a stand-alone trilogy, ?TERMINATOR? will be produced by Megan Ellison of Annapurna and David Ellison of Skydance. Dana Goldberg and Paul Schwake of Skydance will serve as executive producers. Laeta Kalorgridis (?Avatar,? ?Shutter Island?) and Patrick Lussier (?Drive Angry?) are attached to write the screenplay.
Launched in 1984 with star Arnold Schwarzenegger as the title character, ?TERMINATOR? spanned 3 subsequent films, which have earned over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
David Ellison most recently executive produced, along with his partners at Paramount, ?World War Z,? ?Star Trek Into Darkness,? ?G.I. Joe: Retaliation? and ?Mission: Impossible ? Ghost Protocol?. A 5th installment of in the ?Mission: Impossible? franchise is in active development, along with a 3rd film in the ?G.I. Joe? franchise, among other films.

There's going to be a reboot of a reboot of a reboot before long
Followed by a prequel.
They're going to have an uphill climb. Ahnold is iconic in the Terminator role, so they're going to have to find someone who can make people forget him, and eagerly anticipate the next film. I'm thinking Dwayne Johnson or Vin Diesel might work, but this is a trilogy, so at least 6 years, maybe 9? Age and physical fitness for the trilogy's end will need to be considered at the beginning. I suggest Chris Hemsworth still buffed from the Thor set. Unless they're going to change things and have different faces playing different Terminators each time.
I dunno. I loved Terminator 1 and 2, and the franchise has been struggling since T2. T3 just wasn't right, but I did respect the way it did its ending. Good, IMO. The Sarah Connor Chronicles I was giving a chance, but it was struggling on Fox for 2 seasons before getting canned. Salvation? Bad Terminator movie, IMO. The Resistance looked damn healthy and well fed, ridiculously well equipped compared to the future war scenes from Terminator 1 & 2. The Resistance in those movies looked desperate, which they didn't in Salvation, despite having survived a global nuclear war. And the machines just weren't numerous and menacing enough. And I didn't like the Transformers inspired designs.
Anyways, I'd like to say that this new movie set cannot do as bad as T3 and Salvation. But who knows.
To be fair about the resistance being too healthy in salvation compared to the t1 and 2 scenes, the t1/2 guys were set 10 years after the salvation time. a further 10 years of war will probably leave them that level of deprivation.
As for the reboot..... I just have to ask why? Why reboot? Terminator doesn't need a reboot. It's not like a comic film where there are loads of stories they can tell while rebooting. Terminator has a pretty set story.
A Romulan Strike Team, Missing Farmers and an ancient base on a Klingon Border world. But what connects them? Find out in my First Foundary mission: 'The Jeroan Farmer Escapade'
