Go ahead and dismiss me as a curmudgeon, but having a strong battle-carrier is the closest thing to a unique capability that the KDF has left. Please don't take that from them too.

If you want to throw an encouraging nod towards big, heavy starships, well... there seem to be several quite engaging cruiser builds on the forums right now. (I read a really neat-looking build for an Excelsior pressure-damage/drain-boat earlier today.)
I know that's not what you specifically want to play, but I think that giving the Federation a heavy tactical carrier at this juncture would be a mistake.

A fed carrier...3 forward weapons...5 aft...dual hangers with defiant pets...best shield modifier...42kish hull...subsystem targeting oriented...maybe universal secondary shield console...shield similar to the scimitar dread

Like are you just not paying attention? #1 and #2 go TOGETHER. They Synergize. As in, you get more weapon slots because you HAVE to use turrets. But that's fine because your ship as a turn rate of 3 anyway.

What is hard about this concept? It's not even a little bit OP.

Valid point in terms of differentiation of the factions. And thank you for keeping the post civil and not being insulting and only reading the subject header before posting, like 60% of the rest of these posts. Thank you very much indeed.

On faction differentiation, I get where you are at, but I think they've pretty much destroyed 90% of that, so why not go the whole way and let me fly a Battlestar....
