Anyone flying one as a romulan/reman? I thought it would be interesting since it uses a standard warp core and not singularity. Thinking romulan boffs would work even better on a non warbird that has no -defense or energy to balance things out. I've been thinking of getting one to use when I want something tankier than my scimitar. They are pretty pricey but I have a very rare reman tactical with sub and superior infiltrator. He even has bo3. I was told that he is worth a lot. Thoughts?
It is a good ship, with a lot of options (you can configure it as a tank, science ship, heavy hitter, beam boat, torpedo boat etc.).
I use it only in the STF, with a layout of an escort: a good compromise between firepower and survival capability.
Glad to hear good things about it. I am looking forward to the non warbird ship with a romulan captain and boffs. To be honest I love the traits and stuff of the Romulans but I think I favor the m/am warp core ships. Singularity powers are nice but the ship pays for it.
1. I'm going beam arrays and a torp in front. I know rom plasma is all the rage right now, but what about antiproton with Romulans high crit chance?
2. Anyway to be able to get the wide angle torpedo on this ship? I'm guessing since I'm romulan I won't be able to claim the regent?
Use the antiprotons, if you like and if you can afford them, but I don't think that the quantum wide angle torpedo is available for you: it is the (overrated, IMHO) launcher of a tier 5, C-Store ship.
Anyway don't forget that the Adapted BC is a battlecruiser, not "just" a cruiser: it can use the (in)famous DC/DHC, and it has enough manoeuverability to put them to good use, especially against the big targets.
