Very possible to earn that much in a day. You can break down green doffs from the exchange and sell the whites, do that on two or three characters and you can make lots of EC. Also setting up two characters with decent scatter volley escorts or BFAW AtoBatt cruisers and just running Starbase 24, Gorn Minefield and Crystalline Entity Elite back to back can net good loot drops with 2st place finishes.
My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug.

I have made 10+ million in a 12 hour play-day...but only once or twice, on a weekend, with nothing I had to do in real life.

I wouldn't want to invest that kind of time regularly. My real life is worth more than fake currency in a game.

This other guy must be unemployed, no real world connections, etc in order to make 25 million ECs a day whenever he wants....and that assumes the claim is even true.

I think it may be possible to set up bots to monitor the exchange for mis-prices as well and make money that way. Once or twice I've accidentally posted something at a dramatically wrong price (like missing a zero), realized it almost immediately, but its gone faster than I can move my mouse pointer to unlist it. I just highly doubt people could ALWAYS be reacting THAT quickly EVERY time.

Exactly the same happend to me too.
At first i had a similar suspicion, but you shouldn't forget how many people are playing this game on the same server WORLDWIDE.

Exchange is definately not the right thing for me to make money, i just seem to lack the lobes for it, lol.

Eh, when I get the "Item Sold On The Exchange" message before the "Item Posted" message has even disappeared, on a fairly specialized piece of gear, there's a difference between human fast and software fast.

just wanted to post this....in response to players looking for inspiration or something to keep them playing.

You have probably done the engineer and science and tactical on all three groups....o rmaybe didn't on the romulan but did the Klingon and federation side at least.....so you think now what?

Well here is what you do....

You find a race...and you make your captain a xenophobe for that race only....like Ferengi or Gorn or Fersan.....as good examples.......and you make your ship only that race.
Toughest part is changing the duty officers...that takes the longest to do...and probably isn't worth it.

ALso try to find a fleet of that race only.....I did the ferengi thing(I have the ships and shuttle and the whip even)....and did romulan.....not long ago I joined a fersan fleet only...yes Klingon play is tougher in some ways as they just don't have the same ship choices....nor all the weapons and consoles.

Anywise to keep myself interested I choose a theme and try to stay with that only...on my romulan Klingon for example I am trying to be time travelers from the future...so my uniforms and ships and everything trys to stay that way.

Last year i made lot of exchange trade, made lot of ec from it, dont know how much, never checked, it was enough to see, i spend a lot every day and my money just was more than yesterday... once i wanted to do a test, starting a new account, and check how much hour needing in game to reach 100 million ec, but not tested yet.

The best way to earn money on exchange for me was the trading with space weapons, when started with 10m ec, i just did it with mk xi all quality, than as i got more and more money, finally i just traded with mk xi and xii very rare weapons, mostly xii... that was the real profit.
Half of them just was overpriced, lot of crazy price every day, 10-20.000 ec for 2-3 million worth weapons, others just was sale for cheapest price minus some ec, but they dont counted it was CRTD3, CRTH3, ACC3, DMG3 once i bought a disruptor dual heavy cannons mk xii acc3 for about 2-3 million, and sold some hour later for 100 million... but it was at the last year.

Now the weapons price's are low, and i found a way to earn 100-200 million per day, i did it 2 week long than the devs fixed it, never thought it was an exploit, needed about 250m ec investment to start it and some hour per day, but worth it, earned more than 2 billion in that 2 week... with that money on my bank's i stoped checking exchange, now i just left about 1,5 billion and i love to spend ec, so i will need to restart the trading soon.

Tip: dont spend your dilithium to zen and sell keys for ec, buy lock boxes when they made lock box rerun... 200 dilithium per 20 temporal or cardassian lock box at dili store, or less if your fleet have high tier dilithium mine.

1 key 112,5 zen if calculating with 10pack... average zen - dilithium price usually at 115 now (before the jem'hadar ship drop) so you spend about 12.937 dilithium for 1 key what you can sell for 1,6m ec... instead of that, buy about 64 x 20 lock boxes from temporal and cardassian, what you will can sell some months later for about 200.000 ec / 20 lock boxes or more (for example 700.000 ec / 20 temporal when they released the rom temp ships) so that is 64 x 200.000 = 12.800.000 ec instead of 1.600.000 ec, but of course, ist a longer investments, need some months to price increase on exchange... i have more than 20.000 lock box on my banks, waiting for the acceptable price to start selling.

yes, they do!
They constantly whatch what players sell (generally very rare items): doffs, ships, weapons... You need to spend a lot of time, but is not rare that a player type the wrong price. Some day ago I just have seen poste a temporal science vessel for 12.8 millions EC (just a typing error) but I didn't had the time to doubleclick (as said, many players use external programs to be very very very fast). And twice in the past I have seen also 2 jhas posted wid one zero missing... (unfortunatelly I can't buy none of them ).

Only once I had the time to buy 250 contraband at 500k

devs should find a way to neutralize external programs... ex random moving the windows with the ok button, but that is not enough
