# 1 Thoughts on a build
10-02-2013, 08:16 AM
I've been working through a build for a Mirror Universe Patrol Escort (that I just absolutely love) and, while I know it's NOT perfect, I'm curious about what you think and what could be done to improve it.

http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=ussdragon_0 <- The build in question.

The only reason I haven't actively changed out a lot of things on it is that I've been grinding towards obtaining the Aegis set (Jesus Christ, the last part is 3 mil?!), but I DO know that, possibly, I should swap out the beam arrays (especially the phaser one in the back - that's still standard equipment). Yes, it's basic Borg equipment, but it's gotten me through some heavy stuff, especially the fact that it's tough enough to save some of my crew. I think.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Diss?

The biggest piece of advise I could offer is make sure you use tactical consoles that boost the weapons you're using.

In this case you're using plasma but using consoles that boost disruptor damage.

Here is a build I whipped up quickly which should improve your ship significantly without costing much at all.

Keep cycling tactical team, emergency to shields and aux to structural as often as they come up and you'll live long enough for most things. This is not an amazing build and not the best there is but it will get you far enough without costing you the earth and should last you till you get more expensive duty officers, ships, gear etc.

I also put points in skills that I feel are necessary however you may want more points in some than others. If you never plan to run projectile or energy weapons than omit skill points in those areas.

If you have the aegis set, use that instead of the stuff I put there. Energy weapons I picked phaser as they're cheap but so long as you get mk XI uncommon or better and they're all the same type it doesn't matter what energy type you use. Get the appropriate tactical consoles to boost those energy weapons too.

There are blanks, put whatever you like in them. I would recommend assimilated module and maybe the forcefields you have until you get more universal consoles.

Hope it helps =)

After looking over these, yes, they do help out really well. I'll hafta get back to that first design since, in my haste, I ended up selling two of my Borg pieces to get the last Aegis, but that shouldn't take TOO long...

WAIT, WHAT?! that was a mistake

both builds posted above are very nice, you should really copy them. what weapon type you use is of no consequence, but imho disruptors are best.

I know, I know, I was kicking myself earlier for doing that. I got too desperate - that last deflector dish kept getting higher and higher in the exchange. THANKFULLY, I have enough to rebuild one of them right off the bat. I'm just glad they're Mk X and not Mk XII. Next time I get that desperate, I'll just grind Jem'Hadar sets.

But, yes, I'm thinking of doing just that, especially since I got enough to get the Fleet Patrol Escort, which, thankfully, uses the same layout.
