Hi everyone,

We're all really excited about releasing the battlezone and hammering on everything on Tribble to give you guys the best possible content.

I just wanted to clear up a few things that may have been confusing.

- The zone is a persistent zone, not a queue, and is capped at 20 people with two BOFFs each. A new instance of the zone will open when that cap is close to being reached.

- You are not required to team to be in the zone.

- The rewards currently on tribble are a WIP and commendations not being rewarded is an issue that we will be fixing Soon.

- You can choose the two bridge officers that you bring into the zone just as you would if you were going into a mission. Currently on Tribble this is not the case, but we are working on a solution for this issue.

I hope this clears up any questions/confusion that people had for the zone!

Yup, it answers my one about the commendations not being awarded from the battlezone.

Thanks for the response

I've been looking at this screen shot and it may just be me but is that MACO, (the one shooting), wearing new armor? I don't recognize it as MACO armor we currently have available. Specifically the shoulder looks different.

I hope the rewards are high enough to drag people in who might otherwise be unwilling.
I have to agree... I can not remember the last time Breaking the Planet actually popped for me. Big Dig takes easily 20-30 minutes (if at all).

I am all for story driven TEAM missions... (yes, I am going to harken back to the old STF's (pre queued watered down versions).

There is a time and place for fast, get in, get your marks, and get out.... but there is also a time for a seriously hard freaking mission, that can take an hour or so to complete with mixture of ground and space... .that requires a team.

My major beef with Champions Online and their "no-content" updates has been that there's not enough story based material.

CO used to release updates akin to our featured episodes, 5 episode arcs that told a complete story.

The last one they released had a marked decreased in quality, it was only two episodes and ended in a limited time queue.
I didn't even bother to play the queue, as I'd had my fill of CO queues at this point (they are fricking horrible!).
And most CO players are unpleasant people, so I don't like the idea of playing with them.

So, to answer your question, when they do "content" updates, I want story missions, something other then "perform a set task daily to earn your marks".
Preferably with some interesting mission rewards, like a new weapon, armor or something.
Ideally, I'd like ground gear, since I believe there's nothing more that can be done for space that hasn't been done already.

And to be honest, I've gotten rather antisocial lately (due to some negative experiences with other players, both here and in CO).
So I'm not terribly interested in playing with people I don't know anymore.

As to incorporating a PVP aspect, that would push me even further away, I've found that to be a negative experience even worse then playing with the random flamer trolls.
Also, PVP is just a different kind of repetitive activity, only against players instead of NPCs.
So it loses on that account as well.

Ironically, I'm a ground fan.
My characters are specifically specced to fight ground wars.

But on the few occassions I've mentioned that, STO players don't understand or accept the fact.
They think I should only be fighting in space and ground combat abilities is worthless.
The guy who takes the cake is the one who insisted I would never be on the ground at all, therefore my ground specced captain was useless.

But I've given up doing ground queues because the average STO player just doesn't have the skill to fight a proper ground battle.

After several bad runs of the ground fleet mark action because nobody knew the procedure, I decided it was just time to walk away.

It gets even worse when you're doing Elite Ground Actions and trying to get the optional objective.

That's because very few people actually like ground combat. At one point earlier in STO history, I personally boycotted the game because I got tired of the broken mess. Other people just swore it off for all time. A ton of resources was being pored into Space combat and space missions and Space in general. Unsurprisingly, that combat was much more compelling and fresh and its Trek, which makes or breaks the game. Ground Combat felt tacked on and stayed a hodgepodge mess for years. Then the attempt to fix it came along and smoothed the sharp edges somewhat. But its still not up to snuff IMO. Many users reactions to it again, not surprising. Especially for veteran players who've been around awhile. Ground combat is more like traditional MMO aimed gameplay and there's a ton of sources to borrow from. But somehow Ground Combat does not evolve much. (For example, I think it would have been great to borrow SWTOR's cover system and make shots and powers much more strategic to use.)

My hope is that with this new season, they have brought more changes to ground combat. Otherwise its going to be tough pill to swallow on the ground front.

I appreciate your straightforward answer.

I actually agree with you in that I'd like to see a lot more episodic, story-based content, but I'm guessing we don't see as much of that because it's not as repeatable (I mean, we can replay story missions, and I do, but I'm guessing a lot of others don't).

I'd love to see more FE series coming out in the future.

It is nice to have extra Jem'Hadar armors for your boffs.

But yeah, as a general rule.... play it once and then I'm done with it.
