The greatest issue with STO's current Borg space STFs is that there isn't much variation in a mission. In a space STF (or fleet event even) you're largely static doing the same thing. In a ground STF you've got numerous different objectives to fulfill before completing it. Once season 8 goes live, "The Breach" will be the closest we'll get to the variation of a ground STF.

You know what made me laugh, cannons are not the ideal weapon for this mission, beams an FAW pretty much get the job done.
Not the ideal weapon for the first stage, at any rate. I have a feeling that secondary beams will become a mandatory part of Breach player inventories...
In case somebody didn't understand: Holding beams and boffs with FAW in inventories to swap out for the initial stage may become popular with cannon-capable ship captains running this mission.
Edit: That said, I can confirm that cannons are still important for taking out the SIF nodes. My Defiant and Nebula were both blown away by those turrets, and neither were optimally built. The Defiant had high-quality weapons, but they were laid out to match its canon armaments (plus KCB aft), while the Nebula had whatever gear I could scavenge from loot drops and stuff.
Oh, lovely, I can't even requote the Douglas Adams quote I used to have here I WANT IT BACK!!!!
Can we PLEASE eventually play hide and seek and maybe lure one of THESE "puppies" to play with a borg say unimatrix assault force??? it would be a nice (and over quick) cut scene to weaken the Fortress vessel and allow a specialized joint task force to maybe take one down as well as put the borg in there "new" respective place...
If you are referring to something on Tribble, please list it as such.
If you are referring to an upcoming part of Season 8, please add that to the description.
Otherwise it's "Vaporware."
They already did mention it in the blog post, twice.
First, before you even open it the description says this:
Content Designer Chris "mrodds" Dods shares details about the upcoming "The Breach" event in this entry of the Season 8 News Dev Blog series.
Second, the blog post also contains the following:
We hope you enjoy this event when Season 8: The Sphere launches on November 12th, and we?ll see you in-game!
So if you failed to notice that it doesn't exist yet, don't blame them, they did tell you.

Not saying it was the only influence but it was a major one.
It used to be a staple of old b/w sci-fi like Flash Gordon. Though really crappy special effects (sparklers on model rockets woohoo) never made it quite as exciting and they often got the timing horribly off. And I think it was in like 5 or 6 episodes of the silverhawks TV show. Plus there's the airplane versions that aren't sci-fi but have the escape from exploding hangars, blimps, etc. And then the boats getting out of blowing up buildings (James Bond did this a few times).
While all these new replayable events and team missions sound like a ton of fun, I'm wondering where the story will come in. Do the missions have to be played in a certain order to make sense? Where does the Dyson Sphere saga fit into the overarching Iconian storyline? How will it affect what happens in future updates?
Thanks for the blog.
I've played a few times myself this mission, its soo awesome, i think its my favorite from the new space ones
Storming the Spire kinda falls back for me becouse of the choice at the end, where you have to choose shuttles or the dread. The Breach its just straight forward and can be done easy even with a pug team. For me feels alot like some boss fights from some of my favorite console games, where in ordor to defeat a very large enemy you have to destroy diferent stuff.
Loved the pics, especially the comparrison one. Borg now looks so tiny lol
Imo one thing it misses a bit, its a Voth escort fleet around the backround, where you see the ship from outside at the begining and at the end, like some bastion cruisers, dreads, battleships etc.
