At first I was all "Hey . . . thats not a bad idea."
Then I was all "No. No, that just cant happen . . . I will scream bloody murder if Feds get access to a Mirror Vo'Quv and Elite BoPs."
No, sir. Feds get too many ships as is. But it would be a nice "Sorry for the lack of dev on the KDF shipyard side of things guys" if they gave access to the Mirror Fed ships to KDF only. But - that would be another arguement in fairness I dont have the energy to fight.
Hmm . . . A Mirror Assault Cruiser with a KHG Ship Set . . . *slaps self* NO! You cant have my Mirror Vo'Quv OR Qin!!! The last freebie carrier actually has a bigger hull than the Mirror Vo'Quv (with identical console slots and better Boff stations) and Im less than happy about it.
Going this route, may as well ask for all C-store ships to cross factions till T5. Call them captured vessels. But they have to have faction colours. IE dark green for fed ships flown by kdf and pearl white for kdf flown by Fed.

Nor should they be. Their ships would look weird.
I don't agree with the cross faction using mirror ships part myself. I wouldn't mind seeing an option for being able to use the mirror versions on the higher tiered ships though. Select an option to use the mirror parts like the honor guard an maco uniforms. If any of that makes sense enough for anyone to understand heh.
What I think will help with the mirror ships is to make lower tier mirror ships like a mirror heavy escort or a mirror T'liss warbird. Make those cross faction. This would help thin the numbers on the same RA mirror ship that have completely over-flooded the market.
Lower tier would be nice, especially since we can then use the Mirror paint job from the lower tier ships on upper-tier ships.
Like have one release give us a Mirror Defiant, Intrepid, and Galaxy at T4, and then we can use the mirror schemes on our T5 versions.
Constant exposure to the same opinions leads to continual reinforcement of ideas until eventually, any challenge, no matter what form it takes, is going to be met with a disproportionate sense of outrage. Room for reasoned discussion can no longer occur.
