My current record is a 244k hit, but that was with 5 people super-stacking debuffs on a tac cube, so obviously not an average hit, but it was awesome.
Seconding this.

The other wonderful thing about it is that the T'varo can use science powers without dropping the enhanced battle cloak, (although it does the 3-second flicker for everything but mines).

It's also pretty cheap to gear, if you go with a transphasic torpedo build - I was (carefully) soloing Borg cubes in eSTFs after one evening of episode replay, before picking up any rep passives or anything.

Currently my Rom-KDF sci captain is flying a fleet T'varo Retrofit with the 2-piece T'varo set, kitted for torpedoes (link).

Before I switched to a torpedo focus, I flew a sci-orieinted build with TB1/TBR1/GW1 in the uni slot and HE1/TS2 in the sci slot, and using the singularity abilities as secondary sci abilities. A lot of people underestimate the sing powers but they are very useful when buffed with sci skills. All of the Fleet and C-store T5 ships except the Mogai are very good for this kind of usage (Mogai does not have the seating--dunno why people keep recommending it for sci captain, its useless).

I have a vague intention of getting both Tal Shiar ships on that captain eventually but it probably wont ever happen. I am also thinking about buying the Draguas even thought its only a T4 ship, for the Aceton platforms and it also has a Cmdr sci station and so it could be useful for some end-game content that does not have a lot of one-hit ships.

I'll never understand why so many people insist on matching their ship type to their career choice, it's one of the worst possible ways to play IMO. I tend to pick a ship that doesnt match up to my career, so that the two complement one another. I.e. I play tacticals in science vessels or cruisers, engineers in escorts or science vessels, and science officers in escorts.

My romulan science captain runs a fleet mogai - it's essentially an escort as far as manuverability and weapons/tactical boffs go, but it's got nearly as much hull as a cruiser, a fairly high shield modifier, and a more engineering-oriented secondary boff layout. As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best ships in the game for a hybrid of survivability and damage output.

Sadly the Fleet Dhelan is my ride. It is good fun debuffing something before melting it's face off. The dhelan is a great boat for cannons.

I wanted to play science but I also don't care for the hanom.

Thanks for all of the excellent feedback!

Lots of great ideas here. I think I'm going to try out each ship in turn once I hit cap on that character and see which meshes best.

I enjoyed the mogai when I was leveling my Rom Engineer. I eventually settled on the D'deridex, not because he was an engineer, but becaues I've loved that ship since seeing it in TNG.

I don't really try to match character class with ship but sometimes it happens. For the longest time I had my Fed Engineer in a science vessel and I loved it, but I loved the playstyle of the assault cruiser more; he just happened to BE an engineer. It's funny because I generally gravitate toward science powers. I love Gravity Well.

For some reason I just can't get into the Ha'nom and I want to find another option that still has some science kick to it. This character just happens to be a science officer, I like science powers; which is funny because my engineer's ship only has a Lt Science slot.. so I'm constantly looking for gravity well and remembering it doesn't have it lol.

I thought it and the T'varo looked like it might be. I especially like the Dhelan now that I've discovered it has different wing customizations. I honestly never really messed with ship appearance until I get to T5, I forget why I was even doing it but I found it has single wing options and I think it looks pretty awesome. Kind of like a precursor to the Mogai.

No doubt.

I would love to see something kind of like the Luna-class only in Romulan flavor.

I use the Tomporal Science Ship (R'Mor for Roms). Yeah yeah it's a science ship and yeah yeah I won't be topping meters. But I made my character to be a CC/Support character and she does quite well at it. Also running Torp Spread 2 and 3 with GW3 and Tykans Rift 2.

It's kinda fun zipping around space in this little tiny ship.

I'm not really one to stick solely with with my career's ship type, in fact all my Fed characters have an escort, a cruiser, and science vessel at minimum. I love the Armitage with an engineer, the Regent with a tactical captain is just badass, and a science Odyssey is the most effective version I've found. That being said, there's something to be said for choosing a ship that enhances your career as well, those console slots don't just help Boffs after all.

Well the Ha'nom is set up pretty much as a slower tankier Luna, but I get what you mean, a more agile Romulan science warbird with singularity abilities would be awesome.

As it is my Rom main (since all my mains are Scis) flies either the Mirror Ha'nom or D'Deridex depending on my mood. I'd go 'Dex all the way, but for some reason it just doesn't feel tanky enough for a heavy cruiser style warbird. Hopefully that'll change once I finish upgrading the gear, but I'm not holding my breath, this is seeming like a ship that needs an engy's active heals to stay right in the thick of things.

Fleet Deredrix is pretty nice for just about any career path, gotta love a command Engi/Lt com Tact and a Lt Com sci slot -.-

Now if only it didnt have a 5 turn rate (or at least had command array options) Throw GW1 on it, 8 Arrays (or 7+Cutter) and FAWIII and youre set
