Heavy assault tactical combat raider warbird retrofit.

8 Fore weapons, 0 aft.
Commander Tactical, Lieutenant Commander Tactical, Lieutenant Commander Tactical, Lieutenant Tactical bridge officer slots.

10 tactical consoles.

And it'll be the size of earth spacedock.

This seems to be the way things are going, doesnt it? When are we going to see something that isnt massively oversized and doesnt focus almost entirely on tactical abilities?

Well, I like oversized ships, and there are the T'liss and the Dhelan that are quite small.

Oh, they should reduce the crew of that ships: its illogical that a dhelan, that is a little larger then the kumari (that has 85 crew) has 450 crew while the Ha'Feh that is a little smaller then the federation cruisers) has 500 crew.

However, i agree: roms need more non tactical focused ships.

Mmm, no, they're not actually small. What they are is normal in size.

I had a good chuckle reading in the official description for the obelisk that it's among the largest playable ships, after seeing a few dwarfed by run of the mill Romulan ships.

Though for the OP, according to one report in this forum, a dev has said that the next planned Romulan ship will be a science one. Not a carrier though.

who needs a new homeworld when we can just build a death star and wipe out everyone elses homeworld....than we can have season 9 fed look for a new home, season 10 cardassians look for a new home....season 28 Klingons look for a new home (altho the Klingon homeworld is the first to be blown up it will be the last one to be considered for any minor ahem major content)

na the new ship needs to be science...in fact id say we need about 4 more science vessels and maybe toss the kdf 1 or 2 as well

KDFs do extremely well in the science department.

Besides the two sci carriers and other sci ships, there's the raiders.

I never noticed just from browsing through the wiki but with Q's recent double xp goodness I decided to level a kdf character to 50 just to have one. That's when I noticed that every boff station on raiders (available at every tier) is universal.

Who cares about sensor analysis? I've not encountered many ships that last long enough for it to kick in. Subsystem targetting? Nice but not essential. But access to a sci officer at a com station (yeeha!) and the flexibility to do what you like with the others. That's sweet as.

In terms of functionality and stats they're basically smaller (i.e. faster but squishier) versions of the T'liss/T'varo but with all universal boff stations.

I envy the KDF those ships.

As someone who's flown BoPs for 45 months I'd like to know which part of +15 to weapons and no version with 4 science consoles sounds like "science".
It's like saying BoPs make good cruisers since you can just as well put an engineer in the commander slot.

Have you actually tried it out?
I'd like to encourage you to do so...nonono seriously try it. Since the ship is so squishy you usually end up using the heals a science ship usually deals out to others on yourself.

The only fleet Romulan ships with +15 weapons are the Ha'feh and Ar'kif, rest have 10+5 engines =/

Honestly whats so godawful about the Ha'nah guardian that makes Romulans science officers whine? It has decent hull/shield mod, a ok turn rate, battle cloak, and a good boff layout...The only gripe I can think up is maybe cosmetics and variation? Im sure theyll add more Romulan sci ships eventually but lets face it, Dps type ships sell far better.

There is enough ships to compensate manly lackings, what the Republic really needs is a true Science vessel comparable to federation Science vessel woyh aproriate number of science boff stations.

And it needs +15 aux

I can only guess to the why but I'd say it goes something like this:
Warbirds all have a +15 overall to power.
They also all have reduced power output so they end up being slower.
So the bonus to engines is probably there to keep them mobile enough.
The T'varo while having the better impulse mod of the He'feh is probably given this bonus to make it a bit more of a raider than the Ha'feh which is more like a...bomber?

The sad part is that I actually like my Ha'nom.
I flew round in an RSV for over two years fedside and was very comfy with it too.
But I can certainly understand where a lot of people come from who don't like it the way it is: the ship feels a lot like a cruiser-science hybrid similar to the Nebula but without the cruiserish (is that a word?) BO setup to go along with it.
And of course due to the reduced base power the ship is still a bit more sluggish something many folks probably find frustrating.

As far what sells better goes: if Cryptic based everything around that the game would consist of one faction (Feds) with only two kinds of ships: escorts and tactical cruiser like the Excelsior, Regent and Avenger.
