# 1 Port for STO Downloader
01-11-2010, 04:44 PM
If you having issues with downloading and you have a router, try setting up your port forwarding. Pulled from a different thread, it seems that the STO downloader uses port 6881 for the Peer to Peer.

edit: Thanks for the updated info

6881 is the default, but it will try one by one up to 6889 until it finds one that is free.

However there is no need to do anything related to that port re: forwarding or opening it on your router.

That's true.
You can make it anyway, because it probably does hurt less.
I ran with me all the ports, to me, since I have annoyed the port sharing ^ ^

Why there is the desktop firewalls The one has paid in full then they can also fully working firewalls.

Doesn't matter - the "new" bit torrent-based downloader does nothing (yes, my firewalls are configured properly). The old downloader works fine (albeit slowly).

And, most ISPs block 6881 - 6889.

And because it doesn't work for you there's no way it will work for anyone, right? I just downloaded it and it's up to 120 kb/s and climbing. You just have to have some basic patience and let it warm up. Bittorrent isn't html, it doesn't start immediately at full speed.

The old downloader got the entire 10GB in about 3.5 hours.
