# 1 Damage resistance rating
11-30-2013, 06:21 AM
How does this translate to actual resistance?

I've just reached T4 Dyson rep and I'm trying to decide if I want more resistance before death or if I want more chance of applying a killing blow, I do a bit of pvp so the above question will decide which way I go.

Hull:

1 - (1 / [1 + 0.R]) = Resistance Value; where R equals Resistance Rating

I sent this in a message to somebody, so I'll quote it here too...it's basically what I did with the monstrosity of a formula from those two posts. Math's not my thing, so I haven't been able to make a pretty formula for it.

I plug in the values for C4 and C7...then read the value returned in C10.
The T2 Dyson would require an adjustment to the above, and if I ever take it on a toon - I'll probably look at it. The T4 would fit in fine, since it's subject to diminishing returns - but as it's variable, it would be variable. It's along the lines of GDF...

In the end, it's one of those things where an individual should probably hit up Tribble before making the choice. Copy to Tribble, try it one way. Copy to Tribble, try it the other way. Take it from there...

Or you could just add all the ratings together and apply them by putting them in this formula.

1 - (1 / [1 + 0.R]) = Resistance Value; where R equals Resistance Rating

Don't keep making things hard.

Resistance resists change to resistance.

The standard formula for just positive DRR/DRM is:

DR=(3*(0.25-(75/(150+DRM))^2))

To include negative DRR/DRM from debuffs, it gets a wee bit more complicated...
