I started DLing the free version on file planet but its taking forever at 61%, down to 80kb/sec. My local gamstop called to tell me they got the OB cards in..now if i go get one would my DLing be faster? or would i just have to start over same speed..wondering if i should just keep going at this snails pace. I'd hate to have to start all over again.
You actually paid for a digital download of a game that is to be released on 2/2. You will get your money's worth if you wait for the release date.
Until then, you are stuck with everyone else that wants (contrary to former statements) what we paid for.
I remember installing games and waiting several hours for patches to download, this isn't taking much longer (yet).
Charging people for services they do not recieve is bad bussiness. When you contact Atari they say talk to Cryptic. Cryptic is not offering anything but the free download service, so do you like giving away money for nothing?
I purchased in full at game stop so i did not get a fancy D2D 2 hour express job. I started last night at FP, it said 14 hrs. So i thought "Thats not bad, going to sleep and work anyways" So i woke up, it said 13 hrs to go... i was floored. Throughout the day my lovely fiance was kind enough to attempt to find a new DL somewhere and update me... after several other attempts i am stuck with the Torrent, which is at a whopping 23% after 7 hours.
Im not sure how some people were able to zip right through their DLs and many others were shafted. The internet is a strange place. To the guy with the three tips on the last page to make torrent faster, Thanks! It went from 23KBS to around 150KBS and sometimes bouncing to 350KBS.
You aren't paying for something you won't get, you just don't get it until the second of February. I hate this crap as much as everyone else, and I did pay to play the beta and the head start. I'm not saying they are going about it the right way, I'm just saying that you were promised a digital download on February second, not on January 12. I was shafted just as much as everybody else. When City of Heros came out for preorder, they gave you a box that had a beta key and an installation cd. It took about 4 hours to download the patches to play, but it was better than 3 days to download the client and who knows how long to patch.

I remember when Al Gore invented the internet. We didn't have fancy DIMMS or SIMMS, we had to add memory by putting silicon chips in an expansion board. Hard drives were 10 megs and cost around $400, and that was the way it was, and we LIKED it. We liked it fine.
And we didn't have fancy dancy Gigahertz, either. Our computers ran at 4.77 Mhz, and we LIKED it. We had to use a 400 baud modem and had connect to Prodigy to get our porn, and it took 35 hours to download one picture and you couldn't use the phone the whole time, but we LIKED it, we liked it fine.
So don't worry about getting your downloads at 4000 kb/sec, try using a slow, antiquated, useless modem and complain about that, you whippersnapper.
