Login for first time, chose tactical, next, and I get an error with the Char Customization screen in the background. Only choice is OK, and that dumps to the cryptic error report tool, which I filled out twice.

Same here. Crash to desktop after hitting the next button after selecting a career path (science). I had upped my screen resolution to 1600*900. I've tried getting in 6 times, get this error every time. Vidcard is a Radeon 4850, Windows Vista 64-bit

Well that rules out NVidia. I've deleted my hogg files and am trying to have them re-downloaded -- 10gigs. Hopefully this works.
