I'll be glad to offer that feedback once I can get the game to actually launch. Hasn't happened yet. Usually crashes with an OpenGL error that disappears too fast for me to read or click on what I assume is an error dump button.

I have

2.4 GHz INtel Core i5
4 Gb 1067 MHz DDr3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB

It plays fine... so not sure what the problem is.. people that use windows boot camp play with 1.8 core so processing is not the issue.. its all the background stuff that can automatically happen.. virus up dates, soft ware running silent.. so for the average person that knows nothing about computers need more space and more processing power.. so uninstall all that garbage you guys think you NEED and you don't need to go out and buy a new mac

I finally installed the game on my 2011 Mac Mini, it's just under minimum spec, only has 2Gb of memory and has an intel HD3000.

Absolutely playable, if a little stuttery, on lowish settings.

Running fine on my 2013 MacBook aside from the occasional crash that other people are also reporting.

What do you guys think? Upgrading the ram is easy but the graphics?

I remember reading that OS X 10.9 dynamically assigns more RAM and less RAM to the integrated GPU depending on the demand from the software running. Why not upgrade? It's free! (If it supports your generation of laptop)

You could also just give it a shot without upgrading and see what happens...

# 57 2009 13" Mbp

Hello,

I have a 2009 MBP with a 512GB Crucial M4 SSD, 8GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB video card. Also a 2.53Ghz Core 2 Duo. On the default settings this game is running VERY in space. For the away team missions it crawls even on lowest settings.

Good thing I also have a 2011 Mac Mini to play it on. ;-).

I'm actually getting the DT's from not playing STO. It's been 2 months. And its a hellish 2 months.

My MacBook is a Late 2007 MacBook. It doesn't meet the necessary requirements from Apple to upgrade to OS X 10.9.

Tried playing STO and it still keeps crashing. Id assume the graphics card (Intel GMA X3100 144 MB) would work still but be of ok(ish) quality for me to play until i get my new MBP but it's not.

Any suggestions?

The X3100 was barely passable for even casual gaming at release in 2007. STO released 3 years later and it's 3 years past that now. I doubt there's anything in the verse that will get STO to run even passably on that system, especially taking the hit being wrapped in cider.

In contrast today's "integrated" GFX are much better and the HD4000 is quite good at low to middling settings and resolutions. Even the HD3000 is passable on low settings for a lot of games.

Hi!

I'm thinking of picking up the new macbook air soon, but was wondering has anyone tried this on an air?

I'm looking at the 13" 1.3GHz i5 with intel HD4000 graphics and 4Gb of RAM.

If anyone has tried, i'd be interested in knowing if it's playable, preferably with graphics at least a bit above the minimum.

Thanks!
