as the game load with the Cryptic splash screen up. The game crashes. The error shows Fatal Error Decompressing data. No other details. Anyone having this issue and know how to fix it?

Here is another thread concerning this same error.

http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=56238

More info can be found there, however the long and short of it is to delete the .hogg files in your pigg folder.
Location by default is C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live\piggs.

Delete these files (all with .hogg file extensions) and then re-open your launcher (it will detect the files are missing and re-download them). It seems to be working for other folks. I hope this helps.
