After many hours searching for the most up to date drivers, playing with windows settings, installing and un-installing said drivers and a great deal of frustration, I still have no sound.
I give up.
I am going to post my dxdiag here in hopes that someone more tech savvy than me will see the problem. I will check this forum on a daily basis, but i will not be logging back into STO unless someone can help me get sound without the -ignorex64check command line, as it crashes the game (they said it would). So to all you techies (and trekies) please have a look and tell me if you see something I didn't try. Thanks in advance for your time.
PS. I know the sound drivers are old, but they are the most up to date that i have been able to find for the Realtek AC 97.
