No. A Destroyer is not an Escort.

Including the Dyson Sci Destroyers (as escort)? I want this for my Romulan White Star..
I don't think it will fit on sci destroyer as it is not escort, raptor or raider.

Edit: damn, I'm too slow.

Any new doffs variants in the new box and, if so, what are the bonuses?
Considering there are only 2 hybrid tetryons, perhaps it may be an additional effect next to it 2.5% to deal <x> damage to shields. Would be great, like a plasma dot on shield instead of hull...and most tetryon haters may say its useless....aww well.

A new Weapon Pack will be made available in the Hirogen Lock Box that utilizes these updated FX, and also possesses a new Destabilized Tetryon effect which can erode the targets? shields over time.

<sigh>, as destroyer captain, or is it warbird? that innertia console is no use for me, and the hirogen ships are not my style. Leaves pretty much the space set and tetryon weapons. unless of course that space set has another useless combat impulse engine...

If this cannon was beam array...cool cuz console and beam array would allow mixing nukara mine+console for double buff...but now it looks impossible or wrong.

Anyway rly nice job on all other things from this blog. I am rly excited to see the effect of these new tetryons cuz like I said...i love tetryons
Both set bonuses to Tetryon are from the two piece, you don't have to run any more than 4 pieces total. Two consoles + Nukara DBB + Tethered Quantum Mine if you want beams only and the double damage bonuses.

Also, escorts usually have enough Tac to run a DBB for spike damage using BO3 in addition to their cannon abilities, and so would have little trouble running all 6 pieces beyond the mine cooldowns (not sure how those two will fit timing wise).

Ground Traits available will be:
  • Hunter Instincts
  • A keen survival instinct allows you to diminish the advantage that foes can get by outmaneuvering you, reducing the danger posed by being Flanked.
    • Each time you are Flanked, you receive a short duration Dodge bonus.
  • Pack Leader
  • Your hunting acumen allows you and your allied teammates to more regularly gain the advantage over foes. This translates to an increased likelihood of landing Expose effects, and the duration of those effects.
    • You and nearby teammates have an increased chance to Expose, and increased Expose duration.
What are the exact stats on these traits? If Hunter Instincts is +15-20% dodge...yeah, I could see this as balanced. However, if it is any higher than 20%, players with this trait will be too tanky. Flanking damage is meant to assist with killing a target, a trait that grants dodge essentially makes the target more difficult. There is so much spam damage that it would be quite possible to have 100% uptime on this trait within Ground PvP.

The Pack Leader trait could be potentially used to reach 100% exploit chance if the bonus is more than 5% team expose chance. If it's just 5%, I could see it as a useful addition to Ground PvP.

Quote:
Hirogen Enhanced Battle Armor - This armor offers strong resistance to Energy, Physical and Kinetic damage while dramatically increasing the wearer?s maximum hitpoints. It also enhances the wearer?s Expose Chance, Expose Duration and Exploit Damage. The armor also comes with an innate Toggle Power that enables Hunter Sight ? no amount of Stealth can mask your prey while this mode is active, but it has a limited duration before going into a cooldown period.
Text highlighted in red has some significant Ground PvP balance concerns. Armor that gives strong resistances to everything, improved expose chance/duration, improved exploit damage, and on top of all that...perfect cloak detection. Please Cryptic, please reconsider what this will do to Ground PvP before this lockbox is released. I'm assuming the cooldown on the ability will be one minute, which means it will have a 75% uptime via Tactical Initiative.

@tom61sto you are right about that mixing may be possible for some tacs but I am speaking from science toon point of view - with 3/3 setup it would be a lot of sacrifice just to get double bonuses. I would choose nukara mines above DBB so would be forced to put a cannon just to get the bonus?

Its ok eitherway...not big deal just set similarities are rly huge and set setup is also nothing new. Would be better if it was Tactical Console(something new)/Secondary Deflector/and Weapon instead of similar nukara issues but...np.

The most awesome bonus proc would be a polaron proc, because the "boldly they rode" dominion weapons have needed some sort of mk XII variant for a while.

The most awesome proc is in the Polarized Tetryons They are the "real" deal (requiring mk xii)

Interesting stuff. The Mirror Universe Negh'Var Heavy Battlecruiser probably is what's getting my attention the most, although I'm still waiting for a Mirror Universe Long Range Science Vessel.

Looking forward to seeing the stats, but it's probably another lockbox I'll sit out. More often then not, at least for me, it's the lobi store ships that really grab me. Guess I'm just not an escort kind of person.
