Missing additional character slot for current/ lapsed Gold Members
not as yet, unfortunately with it being a weekend and a holiday weekend at that nothing may be heard until tuesday, though i am sure it is being worked on as quickly as possible.
I have 3 fans 2 of witch have speed control dials. the fan that goes on top I took off so I can keep tabs of the air temp manually. I dont have any issues with temp. It could be possible there is a little dust causing an issue or ive seen fans turned in the wrong direction also. I have 2 fans blowing directly on my chip and video and one next to my vid card blowing out.
bump to show how many ppl are having issues. You may want to address this quickly Cryptic this is just the tip of the iceberg. Imagine at launch how many ppl will have issues or those who burn out their rigs because they dont know about monitoring heat. I want to play but I am not destroying my rig to do it.

My experience is much the same as others experiencing issues. Shortly after starting up STO my temperatures rapdily increase, and my GPU fan jumps to 100%. I've never had it auto jump to 100% before and I've pushed my system in a myriad of different ways. Though to note, I've not overclocked any part of my PC.
My GFX card is a nvidia 9800GX2, running everything on max (very little to no graphical lag).
Fortunately while this is unusual, through heavy cooling I think it is manageble. My temperatures are higher than they should be, but not dangerously high. Would be good to have this checked out by Cryptic however.
game is really meesed up if they dont fix for launch then STO aint gonna make it. Bad launch usually equals bad game and low player population. The people talking about cooling just want people to play since they like the game and want a high player population at launch.
