3 of the aux cannons up front along with the sci abilities and a maxed out aux setting makes the Vesta a powerful ship. The gear that has arrived with the anniversary event has me getting my aux power level to 130. Toss on a few officers with efficient traits and I have 60/20 as my weapons power settings. Drop a grav well 3, fire off cannon rapid fire 1 and rock the enemy, toss on top of that the shuttle bay, great ship.

You can push your aux power to 135 if you use the Obelisk Warp Core. I don't know if it will increase your weapon damage, but it will reduce the drain. It's 10% more damage after all. I don't know of any other core that can do that. Then, you can use that aux power and energy siphon to boots your power on all of your subsystems to 100 or better for 24 seconds at a time, with only a 6 second gap. Shield balance is faster, movement is faster, aft weapons have more damage, and aux DHC's have more damage. The target can use hazard emitters to clear the effect, but you keep the power bonus for the full duration.

This is what I'm currently using: Vesta

The Solanae set is super easy to get and does ok on the Vesta until you can go grind out a rep set that you like.

that is how you go about it if you have 1 vesta =) also I love the vesta had I not unboxed a Wells I would still be flying round in my Vesta (might use Vesta on a different character) anywho one thing the vesta can suffer from is that you can have too many buttons to push on your tool tray I myself have had the problem mainly due to the ships versatility.

Yea I'm swapping around a bit to see which of the sets I have I like best on her. Have the older MACO, Aegis and some of the borg bits.

If you have any interest on dedicated Science Vessel play as a Fed, the Vesta Pack is literally the ONLY thing you will ever, ever need. Between the 3 different ships of the pack, the different Console arrangements, you can make a Vesta fit practically any style of Fed Science Vessel out there. The maneuverability is decent enough, only the Temporal Science and Nova Sci Vessels handle better. The Consoles are pretty handy and feed off the synergy of the Aux Phaser Cannons. And if you don't want to use the Consoles, then fine, you have the full complement of a 10 console ship open to you. The Vestas, due to the Aux Phaser Cannons, are among the very few Science Vessels that can sport DHCs. Better yet, you can do this without sacrificing the all important Aux Power that Sci Vessels feed off of.

Oh, and it has a single hangar.

The Vesta Pack is the complete deal. 10 console ships, C-Store (account unlock), versatile, potent. The Vestas do everything Sci Vessels do, and they do it quite well. The ships are such good Sci Vessels that Cryptic has literally killed further Sci Ship development for the Feds. You simply cannot top it without making something overpowered and gamebreaking to replace it. With the Vestas, you honestly don't need any other Sci Ships. Not even the Temporal Sci Vessel. Not even the new Dyson Sci Ships, which are pure gimmick and cannot perform the duties of a powerful Science Ship better than the Vesta, without turning itself into an Escort and deactivating everything it means to be a Sci Vessel.

The fact that the Vestas are so good that you don't need lockbox / lobi sci ships as a Fed, nor the Dyson Ships that Cryptic has been trying to ***** out, should say something about how good the Vestas are.**

It is the one stop shop for Fed Sci Vessel needs.

And you don't need any other B.S. out there.

PERIOD.

** = The Dyson Sci Ships are only a big deal for the RRW and KDF. Both are very starved in Sci Vessels. But the Dyson Ships are still inferior to the Vestas.

I'm using the Aegis set on my Tac Vesta atm... with 1 Quantum Torp, 4 AP beams, and the Omni AP beam in back... I'm loving it!

Also, it's due to have the Aux Deflector opened up to it in the near (?) future!
