On topic: I don't have either T'varo, but I've poked my head into Ker'rat randomly enough (not really specced well but sometimes the place can be fun to mess around in) to have seen one slinging red doom balls everywhere from cloak once.

I learned terror that day. And made it my mission to shoot that guy every time he showed up.
There is no arguing in the link I posted. It goes to my fleet's website, and specifically, to my own discussion ("essay" or "treatise" or whatever -- the point is, it's only what I myself wrote; there are no comments from anyone else, and I'm pretty sure I set it up so that I have to approve any comments before they will appear on the site, but I think comments are only possible on blog posts, and this is not a blog post).

Anyway, back on topic. I brought this up only to say that I specifically referred to the Temporal Cold War to explain what many Trekkers view as anomalous: the presence of Romulan ships in ENT (namely, the two T'varo warbirds) which had features they should not have had at that time (ability to cloak and travel at warp speed simultaneously, and the material from which they were constructed being first seen in the TNG era).

Some builds might call for it, but i would personally avoid it in favor of more attack skills, given what the T'varo' layout is.
Actually, given the fix for Grav Well several months back, for the T'Varo to go with Grav Well 1 makes a whole lot of sense, esp. if you have the Dyson Grav Torp.

While in cloak:
-Group up NPCs with Grav Well 1
-Load up attack buffs and Torp Spread 3 or High Yield Torp 3

Decloak (decloak dmg bonus, on top of TAC buffs)
-Fire off Dyson Torp
-Watch entire wave of NPCs die

Most esp. in PVE, ships with a strong flavoring of TAC & SCI make the game extremely easy. If you have at least 1 LtCdr BOFF station in TAC & SCI, you can **** this game real good.

I very much enjoy reading a differentiated approach to such topics.
It's because of the kind of discussion that can also be observed in the thread about a potential Romulan Academy.
I know. That thread got out of hand very fast, and I admit that I allowed myself to be baited into the thread hijack for 2-3 pages before I noticed how far off-topic it had become. I believe that the person who started the thread hijack was trying to bring discussion from a separate thread over into that one because he wanted to provoke a confrontation, and unfortunately, I gave him one. I do apologize for that. We Romulans are a passionate people, you know. But yes, I apologize for allowing myself to be baited.

No need to apologize. We all have our passions and our weak moments.
And it seems there's a bit of a misunderstanding on my part that comes from the fact that I stayed away from your essay.
I had see the thread of the same name in the Romulan Gameplay where, as I just looked, you have provided a link and nothing more.
My assumption was that it was the place where you had posted the entirety of your information and that as a consequence...well we've all seen how that kind of stuff turned out.
Anyway I'll give it a look as soon as I get a chance. Thank you very much.

There is really no ambiguity here, it's pretty selfexplanatory.
Well, I'll be darned. I never really look at the buffs. Blew up a bunch of things in Tau Dewa Patrol, and only forced the "Ambush" buff on screen with a forced decloak.

It's the same way in the B'rel (did it in Empire Defense patrols). I forced a decloak, and I got the standard Ambush bonus in the B'rel... otherwise, just the standard EBC buff.

That stinks. I wasted a lot of EC for a Superior Infiltrator Reman, along with the Superior Romulan Operatives for my T'varo.

I'll just load up on Nausicaans, I guess (+7.5% damage isn't all that bad), and spec my Remans & Romulans for the D'deridex BeamFAW spam. Time to make Hiven & Veril & Satra productive by kicking them off of the island...

Enhanced Battle Cloak is sort of a waste on the T'varo, I guess.

It's not a waste. Not at all. EBC is one of the strongest benefits you can have in the game... what I call the "Cloak & Poke"

Firstly, with enough Operative / Superior Operative and a smidge here and there of Infiltrator & Superior Infiltrator (the timer increase stacks for different quality Infiltrator traits, not the same quality**), you can cut that recloak timer down to 9 seconds. You can make the ambush buff timer go from about 14-15 seconds to 23 seconds if you're a Reman.

Warbirds should be weaving in and out of cloaks. Preferrably when the Ambush buff timer is done or when the situation warrants. The T'Varo & B'Rel both can do this.

On top of those benefits, the EBC still lets them:
- Fire torps while in cloak if you don't want to drop out completely.
- Same with Sci and other Support abilities. You can apply things like EngTm, SciTm, TacTm onto a friendly without decloaking altogether.
- You can still drop mines without even temporarily dropping cloaks like you do with Torps and Support / Sci abilities.
- If damaged and you have cloak applied, you can still quickly, easily repair yourself without waiting to be out of combat to regenerate, or dropping cloaks to apply repairs. This is a massive benefit to EBC and gets you back in the fight after taking alot of damage faster than any other cloak capable ship.

** My Reman, alongside several Superior Operative BOFFs and 1 Reman BOFF with Superior Infiltrator will have a 9-10 second recloak timer. Ambush timer is at 23 seconds. This is due to my Reman captain's regular Infiltrator and another Reman BOFF's Superior Infiltrator traits stacking.

The Infiltrator ambush timer will increase if you have Infiltrator+Superior Infiltrator. It does NOT stack if you have Superior Infiltrator x2 in the setup.

Well, I did give a little teaser in the OP there, but yes, the link was the actual content of the OP and leads to the actual discussion. Surprisingly, the thread has been very calm. If you wish to discuss this further, you might consider posting in that thread; if you're not comfortable with that, feel free to PM me on-site or in-game (my global handle is the same as here: @protogoth).

And now back to the T'varo.

I am very fond of my T'varo torpedo boat with the Breen Absolute Zero set and the Enhanced Battle Cloak. It's really quite effective as long as you have the right build. The Destabilized Plasma Torpedo does considerable damage; again, though, with the EBC up, you have no shields, and Monotanium is probably the best way to go for hull plating -- just make sure you have Evasive Maneuvers in your tray, to get away from the BIG RED ROMULAN BALL OF DEATH lest it deal big red death to you as well.

I'm arriving late to the party, but I just wanted to chime in and say that I absolutely LOVE the T'Varo!

I sometimes use it as a pure torpedo boat and gradually chip away at enemies until they die or run away, but lately I've been mixing torpedoes and the destabilized tetryon weapons from the lock box (or the exchange).

I enjoy melting through enemy shields and then delivering the "Red Death" super torpedo or a barrage of high yield quantum torpedoes to the unshielded ship ... instant BOOM.

I now go around quoting Edgar Allan Poe in PVP matches:

"And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all."
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."
