Id like to suggest the introduction of the red matter capacitor as a c-store item so even new players have the chance to get this pretty powerful device.
Fact is that it is the most powerful battery ingame and new players have nearly no chance ever getting this device since it was only part of the collectors or gold edition of the game, which are not available anymore or cost around 100€ (or more) these days.
Cryptic wants to focus more and more on the PVP aspect of the game with the new seasons (as announced several times). Problem is that players which got hands on that device always will have an advantage in PVP over new players that dont have the chance to get such a device.
While the current owners of the red matter capacitor had the chance to get this device just because they started to play the game a few years ago, new players dont have this chance anymore. This causes an imbalance between old and new players in PVP.
How big this imbalance is... well I am aware that this highly depends on carreer, ship, skills and build... but the imbalance exist.
So why should new players (which also support the game and might subscribe or even have lifetime accounts) be forced to have such a disadvantage in PVP when fighting against players with red matter capacitor?
Why not introducing this device as a C-store item for all players that can afford it?
Let it cost 5000 Zen if you like. It does not matter.
People which want that device would pay that amount.
The introduction as C-store item has only benefits.
- its not an item that suddenly would imbalance the gameplay... since it is already in the game
- it helps balancing PVP
- players that want this device finally would get the chance to buy it
- cryptic would make profit selling these devices (again)
Its at least better than selling the 100th ship and custumes that players dont use.
And this are the negative consequences:
Would be cool if Cryptic considers this suggestion.
(and if the devs dont read this... maybe somebody could forward this suggestion to them )
Well, I am assuming that people are able to read the item description and can decide then if its worth it or not.
For some it will be as useful as a non-combat pet... for others it will be the item to get.
Thats pretty much the same for all items on the C-store.
