I got the above message while trying to transport down to Vega colony to assist against the Borg in the Tutorial mission. I have had this happen with 2 separate characters now. Now both characters are unplayable. Every time I try to laod the character after the initial error, the loading process freezes and I have to hit ESC to get back to the desk top.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any solutions/suggestions? It would be nice to play the game past the tutorial.

Sounds like a corrupted install of STO.

You'll need to verify your hogg files (compressed data files) and possibly delete the files to have the launcher re-download them, or do a download and clean install. Follow directions in this thread.
