Ping jumps to over 5000k and does not move if you launch Utorrent in the background whilst playing STO.
Even when freezing all downloading / seeding.

This bug keeps occuring for me in high populated zones such as deepspace encounters and starbase24.

It seems to be fine in sector space though can run utorrent and STO and ping averages around 180 ish.

Maybe it's a sign that you should educate yourself a little more before posting in these forums. Not all torrents are illegal.

I can say that downloading torrents while playing is something that may work or not but i suggest you check your settings in utorrent so it doesnt steal alll your bandwith.

Also you can limit upload which can help a lot in graphic intense games.

But best bet is not to download torrents while playing games.

If you want to play Online games, you really shouldn't have a torrent application open.

as suggested above with any torrent tool it will try to grab all the bandwith thats available, restricting the bandwith in Utorrent will free up bandwith for other stuff.
if you restrict only your upload speeds then you will find most torrent tools auto restrict how fast you can download as well.

bewarned though that you may suffer packet loss even if youve restricted bandwith available to the torrents.. this can occur for an hour or more after closing torrent downloaders

you may also find you get better performance in any other program by setting the process priority in task manager to low or bellow normal

Why, i've been doing this since **** and never had a problem. The important thing to remember is to limit the upload to about 10% max of your upload bandwidth.

For download, limit to no more than 50% of your d/load bandwidth.
