Check System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General Tab and see if Allow apps downloaded from Anywhere is checked. If not, that might be your problem.

downloaded the client, tries to launch. fails to connect to the auto update server after several attempts. no firewall or internet issues. COMPLETE newbie to macs. have current lifetime sub from PC but had problems with that since before you announced a mac version of the game. glad you made a mac version so i can play at work now. but i need to download it to get it to work. PLEASE help!

Thank you very much for putting work into a mac client. You'd have to do it sooner or later i guess. And thanks a lot for the game itself. Great job! You make a lot of Star Trek fans very happy.

Well, right now, there is no Mac client, so while the link works, what you get is nothing at all.
