# 1 Session report - All crashes!
05-02-2014, 01:36 PM
Well, if anyone wonders the Mac client doesn't work on a i7 Mac Mini bought new in April 2014. The specs for has to be too low, but they aren't when compared with the requirements.

Now for the report. I've been fighting the client for about 2 and a half hour, and lost 6 times. The longest playing time I got was 1 hour and 6 minutes, the shortest was 6 minutes.

Well, that's what some people call a fully functioning game. You know what i call it? An alpha that shouldn't even have been released for public testing.

The game plays just fine on my Core 2 Duo 2009 iMac. I can't imagine that it has anything in it better than a 2014 machine.

I have the same experience the mac client runs best on an core2duo 2007 imac for me. None of the newer machines i checked including nMP come close in performance, which shows that there is some really poor programming being done with the client.

I am a mac user, STO keeps crashing every time I log in and only made 3 minutes of playing before I could do anything. Also had to force quit the launcher too.

Same issues here on all the iMacs in the house as well as the laptop.

I have a Late Model 2012/ Early 2013 with four i7 3.4 Ghz with over clocking to 3.9, 16gigs Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB card and MY machine crashes more than the late 2009/early 2010 iMac with Intel Duo and the Laptop with similar. Both have the same or less memory and only 256mb cards.

I love this game so far and I just started, but I can't really play until you patch the Cider Client...I dealt with this nonsense with Guild Wars 2...same stuff, different game. You'd all be better off making a native Mac Client so things stop running into the wall. But barring that, how about some fixes so I can play this AMAZING game?

I was playing on the beta MAC client well enough on a new IMAC...until now.

The most recent game update is nothing but problems.

The game totally crashes at launch as it updates game files for the new Federal Earth Starbase. Ten game reloads and ten crashes and I gave up.
