To be fair, the people citing the fact the game is in its early few months as an 'excuse' will be pretty spot on, for the most part.
I can't think of a single MMO that took less than a few months after launch to really get anywhere close to being of a decent standard. Hell, plenty of them struggle to keep up with the hardware alone for the first year - if Cryptic can use OB as a litmus test and manage to keep on top of hardware issues at the very least, they'll be way ahead of many of their competitors.
Unfortunately, few people seem to remember the early days of successful MMOs like WoW - or just simply weren't around and for some reason presumed they were born the fully grown monsters they are today.
At the very least, should this game last well past the year mark, ideally well past the 2, 3, 4 year marks - the fact that the launch had issues will be rather meaningless and forgotten about too.
Best bet is to avoid these forums like hell for about a year or two. :p
Going on past experience of MMO launches I'm afraid to say you've got at least a year and a half to go before people stop saying "What do you expect it's only been out xx days/months"
Well it is pretty true. My experience is that MMO's need at least a year to shakedown and get to the point where they match the design vision. I only get annoyed when people like Blizz roll out a game breaking bug with obviously no testing.
