THESIS STATEMENT: I want to train TRAITS to my boffs for dilithium cost.
OK, The Romulan boffs you can buy at the embassy are awesome. I mean, super awesome.
But I want their skills on MY boffs.
You see, I went to a lot of trouble to get all Klingon Boffs on my Klingon. And all Andorian boffs on my Andorian.
On my ferengi, I have Nauscians and hot Vulcan females. (Fed Nauscians. As in, moved them over from other toons via diplomacy max.)
My boffs are part of my outfit, and then you go and put a super awesome trait like "Superior Romulan operative' and "romulan subterfuge" in the game which boosts my damage, or time to recloak..... AND ITS ONLY ON ROMULANS?!?!?!
I don't mind paying for the training (IE, however much the boff would cost if I bought it. like, 80k fleet credit and 18k dil?) MAYBE give us a discount if we bring our own boff, since we had to spend to get the boff.
SO yes, charge us, but let us train traits to boffs! Our boffs are a super important part of building a character.
there need to add more types of doff with space + something maybe not the critH but how about some with + ACC for feds n kdf.
Welcome to bugs online were we only fix the bugs you like, and will ignore the ones you hate.
These are the voyages of the USS Farmville. Her 5 year mission is to boldly farm where no one has farmed before. Say No to ARK
Think about it from a game perspective. To have the most badass ship for my Klingon, I have to fill it with ROMULAN officers. That's goofy.
No one is forcing you to do so.
Having said that, I've been saying for awhile that, as much as I love my Rom BOffs, the various flavors of Romulan Operative should not stack. IOW, you could have one with Superior, one with 'standard' and one with Basic - any more than that and the bonuses wouldn't stack.
I also think some minor improvements to existing traits would help balance things out. Pirate is decent for KDF players, just not even with SRO.
Part of the problem is the mindset of "I just gotta completely max out this build or it is worthless" - no one *needs* 5 purple SRO boffs to play.
Take a look at the content for a sec, eh? It's pretty much been nerfed repeatedly to make it easier for some folks.
Take a look at all the powercreep for a sec, eh? If harder content hasn't been added, if the existing level of difficulty for content actually drops, then who is that powercreep for?
The average player may not need them. The casual player may not need them. The intended audience for this game needs way more than just five of them.
Oh believe me, I understand that aspect of it. And yes, for hardcore PvP, its natural to want every possible edge. But I'd venture to guess that there are way more players who just have to be 'maxed out' that never PvP. All they do is drive up the costs for everyone.
Well, not for me, as I'm perfectly happy not to worry about it.
