It's one thing to talk about scripted mission encounter where you couldn't kill the ship even if you wanted until the reinforcements arrived and just space fighting regular ships you encounter. You picked the worst excuse ever. try again.

Yeah it seems like the 1-11 portion of the game is much easier than when I did it in OB. It's to be expected I guess, those being the noob levels, and more-or-less the tutorial. If nothing else has really changed since the last OB patch, you'll notice a pretty big difference once you hit level 12 and onward.

We were talking about escort ships which would make this discussion about 11+ range.

I'm a little late to the party, so I guess I should have been more specific with who I was responding to.

It didn't seem too bad to me, of course I couldn't play for too long and only got to lvl 4. The Orion ships were suprisingly easy, when I looked at my shields they hadn't dropped at all, but facing Klingons was a little better.
Of course for me being easy means I can get through it faster which suits me fine. I just want to unlock Klingons and play them until I can use my joined Trill.

meh this is head start, cryptic usually waits until launch day to screw things up horribly then claim there's no problem.

Yeah have to agree with the ease of the game. I eventually switched tactics from circling ships and blasting em (what I expected to have to do) to going to near dead stop and just blasting them from max range. They die before they get to me - mother battle ships and all (usually +2 levels from me too). Go figure. Hopefully it gets harder soon (up to grade 8 leutenant).

That is exactly it. There is no need to maneuver or waste time with some fancy abilities. All you need to do is park the ship and let lose and kill those space rats good. That and the fact that the loot goes to higher damage dealers encourages this kind of cheap tactics.
