So I'm almost ready to hit Lt. Cmdr again and was looking for thoughts on what I should do for my next ship. In beta I used the escort and I enjoyed it, it was small and fast and packed a good punch and the second security BOff was nice. I never got to try the other two types though
Here's my character. Third generation Federation officer, his father and grandfather were both officers, his grandfather (died of natural causes) was an Admiral while his father died a Captain. He's a Federation officer through and through, believes in the tenants of the Federation and will do whatever he needs to to uphold them. He started his career as a security officer and still beleives that when all else fails, a good phaser will fix it.
I doubt Science ships will do the trick for me. The big draw back for the escorts is that they didn't feel... right, cruisers will fix that but are they good in combat? What makes them differant in comparison to escorts? ...aside from the size!
Well, this depends on your play style. Escorts are all about 'DPS' where as Cruiser are the 'tanks' of the 2. Science is considered a 'debuff/buff' vessel. If you like to be 'incharge' take a Cruiser. If your 'helpful', take the science vessel. If your all about 'DEATH TO EVERYTHING' stick with the Escorts.
