I've not tried it myself, but have you tried using the mailbox system in the game to mail the items to your other characters? NW corner of the Sol station, near the exchange. I would expect that so long as the items are not "bound" to your character that picked them up, then in theory it should work (unless ofcourse Cryptic don't allow it).
Mail Box next to the Bank Terminals. Those Mail Boxes have 5 Slots to place Items into. I have successfully sent a Betaziod Science Bridge Officer via this method from my main to my Tactical Captain. In Open Beta I managed to send some stuff (Personal Shields & armour) from my main Fed character to my Klingon character also.
The specific mailboxes are in the same area as the Bank Terminals in Sol.
