This game has alot of potential
give it time to improve , its still in its infant stage
we cant compare STO with WOW, wow has been around for 5 years now and they had time to get the bugs out , and fill it with content

the planned content for STO looks very good

im gonna give STO my full attention, i even suspended my WOW account for STO

Yep. You're comparing apples to oranges. They are both fruit, but they are different in many ways.

You can't compare the two, no matter how badly everyone wants to.

WoW, despite the fact that it has a community of 14 year old kids with severe head trauma and ADHD, has its strong points. The game, is GOOD.

But STO isn't WoW. It isn't "like" WoW, and any compare points would be more opinion than fact - or slanted because WoW has had that 5 year run and has ironed out a lot of bumps that STO hasn't even HIT yet.

So stop trying to compare STO to other games, and enjoy it for what it is: a game unto itself.

STO vs WoW, by category

Development
STO is almost 19 hours into the release.
WOW is approximately 5 years and 2 months into the release.

Gameplay
Both are games that fall under the MMO genre.
Both follow some of the more common RPG paradigms in some way (skill development, currency, equipment, etc.)

Story
Both derive from well-developed fictional settings with a large fanbase.

Title Abbreviation
Both contain a single -O.
WoW contains two -W's, the number of -S's and -T's STO has combined.

Testing shows further comparisons increasingly subjective or otherwise meaningless.

It's actually very easy to compare these two games.

STO is the bigger brand, but the smaller physical game at launch.

WoW was the lesser known brand, but the larger physical game at launch.

While the aspect of these game arcs are different, they are fundamentally the same. Go here, talk to that, kill this, rest for that, buy this, sell that.

And while that last part is not bad, there is no doubt that it was more fun to explore WoW at launch, than it is to explore STO. Which, actually you can't explore unless you have the rank to do so. WoW had this too, but only for the actual dungeons.

And you said you couldn't really compare them
