f you find that you are getting taken out too quickly then you need to hang back from the main group, and perhaps make sure you're in a group with science ships and cruisers than can enhance and refill your shields.
That's not really how the Escort class is advertised. They're supposed to be the agile damage dealers. This is true on the Klingon side, not so much on Fed side.

More speed, more avoidance, better avoid to speed ratio.

The ability to chain the cannons, so we have to press spacebar once for all three cannons (they don`t need to fire at once, just one after another, just with one key press).

Increasing the firing arc a little (60-75) and alot for up and down.

More possible angle in flying up and down.

Maybe aggro reduce but i would like some aggro gaining skills for tanks more.

Better camera control, perman back, with "snapviews" (like looking left, right, up ,down, behind and then it snaps back again). Perma firing arc display toggle.

And they are, they outdamage and outfly the other fed ships by a mile, but there is no reason why they should survive bieng targetted by a group of ships, there are plenty of BO skills that increase survivability, jam sensors, scramble sensors, etc

How are they not? They have the best turn rate on the fed side, frontal cannons and a torp with just rapid fire is awsome burst dps.

I think you guys are just hurt you cant use MES like before so now you have to change Bo's around and find a different way to play.

problem is that the surprise effect of the cloaks is just too much to handle. 2 BoPs with cannons, blowing their cooldowns can pop an escort within 5 seconds. We have done so non stop in the open beta and it is still working pretty well. The Fed escorts agility is pathetic compared to the BoP and doesnīt even seem to have much to compensate for it. Thatīs the reason why I switched factions now for good. The BoP ist just the better dog fighter hands down and can get the hell out of any engagement with combat cloak. I love the fed ships but atm I canīt bare their poor peformance.

I have no issue with playing an escort and I did in OB.

I am also planning on going this route again because I do love the DPS. I managed to come across some Paratrinsic Shields in OB (which is about double the shield strength of traditional shields) and it was awesome. But before anyone comments on equipment saving my skin, this isnt true. I had a pretty decent survivability rate before landing those shields. This increased when I teamed or participated in Fleet Space Combat.

For anyone who complains about escorts not being tough enough, you are only correct in terms of matching all escorts to the USS Defiant from ST: DS9, which was not your typical escort. So please, stop making comparisons. That is like the players complaining about the cruisers not being nimble enough. Each type of ship comes with its own peaks and valleys. Everything can be offset a little with equipment and proper placement of skills.

So I can say that I have enjoyed playing the quick hard hitting escort despite my paper hull. All I can say is maybe...just maybe I would be in favor of adding an extra console slot to each type of ship as a way to address this. I havent given that much thought, just bouncing an idea around.

Both very true. However, Klingon escorts are superior in almost every department, thanks in no small part to Battle Cloak.

1. I (as in me, the player) am not attached to one faction or another. I'm neither Fed or Klingon. Nor do I have a preference

2. They fixed MES. It's still not even half as effective as Battle Cloak, even maxed out. Which BO slot takes up Battle Cloak again? I always forget what Klingons give up for that particular power.

I agree the right equipment can save you. For your play style and your ship, the right equipment was the Paratrinsic Shields in OB. As I remember, Escorts have the worse shields. Thus, this really hepls you, and gear is important. If you are a commander (in level and rank) a blue Paratrinsic Shields MK I is worse than a white Paratrinsic Shields MK VII.

Indeed! Ship scaling is a bit funky from Tier to Tier.
