I got offered a mission to recruit a new BOFF while in sector space, got the option for an unknown alien female tac officer, choose it and went to assignments but she was no where to be seen???

Any ideas?

There's an open bug report that they're requesting everyone with the problem add their name to. Click the ? next to the minimap, click Report Bug, click Missions, select the bug (should be one of the two in blue text that shows up) and click the button at the bottom of the window.

Did you try going to Personnel (Earth Space Dock), going to the NPC in charge of Bridge Officer Requisitions (right next to the NPC in charge of BO skill training) and actually getting your BO? Like they tell you told you to?

You can hail them the same way you hail any other NPC, and doing this should get you the officer, but in some cases doesn't. You don't have to return to the starbase.
