Do exploration missions, U can trade exploration badges for good gear and weapons as well as the badges u get for pvp. Fleet open missions arent the only way to get good gear in the game.

To be honest, the damage done by blue drop weapons isn't that much better than their standard counterparts. They have a bonus attribute or two, but nothing to scream about.

true. what's a lot nicer are shields, deflectors (if science mainly), etc. blue consoles are beastly, though you never ever get the drop you need

Yep, I'm a lifer in CO and this has been brought up many times before and look where that game is at. Its extremely discouraging...No sense of team, wanting to work together or even a need to do so. I never thought I would see the day when I regarded Funcom (AO and ***) higher then another game company...

Admiral Ross: Captain Sisko, I must insist that you stop using the Defiant for fleet actions. The other captains are complaining that you're doing too much damage.

Captain Sisko: But we designed the Defiant to do more damage! That's what it's for! It's what it does best! Maximum firepower in a small, heavily armored ship!

Admiral: Sorry Ben. It's obvious we're going to have to nerf you. I've instructed Mr. O'Brien to remove half your forward weapons, and most of your aft weapons. Now go fight the Dominion!
