It'll get better in a month or two. You need to expect things like this when an MMO launches. Expecting everything to run perfect is asking to much and honestly a bit stupid. Every MMO launches like crap. Hell, sometimes a year later they still have problems.
Things will be ironed out, problems solved, whiners will leave and the community will get better. Patience is the key.

I came home early to play for a bit, and have not been able to for a good few hours now, plus, i never won the lottery neither tonight. Just one of those things, every mmo ive played in the headstart for has had this happen on opening day, been expecting to play and something happens, its not just cryptic, and everyone who has played a headstart before in an mmo cannot run around all surprised.

I think you are confusing the game, the system hardware, and vastly underestimating how badly they underestimated how high and dedicated their population would be.

The game itself was stable as sin prior to adding in the "purchase my closed beta key" FP numbers, regained stability as they expanded their hardware capabilities, and then the bottom fell out as the customer base response outstripped their estimations. It is not as though the company has a spare 250,000 persons' worth of processing power in their closet.....

This will be fixed, and the game will be fine.

Mmmmm I taste WeakSauce!

I usually stay away from sayings like that, but I was just drawn to the Darkside by the post title. Oops wrong universe reference! Hehe.

The launch has actually gone quite well in my opinion. Problems have been sorted quickly for the most part and I haven't come across any broken missions so far.

So many say "this isn't as bad as game X" or something similar. Well, perhaps you haven't figured out yet but this isn't game X. I paid for the STO headstart, not to sit in a que waiting to play nor to sit and have the login server constantly time out. If you bought a car would you be satisfied if it only started up when there wasn't a lot of people on the road? Or what if you had an oven that didn't work prior to and during the hours of dinner time? It's the same thing here. I bought into an MMO headstart and expect to have it accessible when I try to play (barring reasonable maintainance times).

Maybe the majority of you are willing to accept sub-standard service from Cryptic but there are the rest of us who feel they should be held to a higher standard, especially since this isn't their first game.

STO = Server Timed Out.

Wrong. You paid to preorder STO; Cryptic was nice enough to set up all of the preorder bonuses and head startery.
