I mean if we are all on one server, i cant imagine having 400,000 starships flying around in space. I guess thats what the que is for....but then i cant imagine being number 400,000 in line waiting to play. Guess im never going to log off then.
well, It'll be instanced so then there'll be only 50 or so spaceships flying around at once. However, more likely there'll be 500+ people crashing every minute so, It's a moot point for the developers.
Well, some of us DO have employment and lives outside of STO. I'm sure that will extend it to an extent. But no, STO won't reach a million subscribers if they can't resolve some of these issues. Of course, I have confidence that they WILL be resolved, it's just a matter of when. Unfortunately, if they don't get on the ball before too long the Word of Mouth will spread and reflect quite poorly on the product.
Why do people always make assinine posts like this?
First, I AM employed, full time as a FOREX trader
Forex just HAPPENS to close its markets at 4PM EST on Friday.. at which point even if I DID want to work, I cant because the market is CLOSED!
So... from 4PM Friday.. Saturday.. and Sunday morning.. OH yeah.. I must be unemployed and have no life...
Aside from server stability, that's what I'm afraid of for this game the most. Hopefully they'll be updating frequently and bring a more epic end game to us outside of the normal 5 man team.
I agree the server stability is starting to worry me. This is the release candidate and I think they really should get some redundant servers so if some go down others can take over. I know it wow they have separate servers with different "worlds" in each server. That might be a good idea for this game so that if some go down the entire game isn't down. Other then the servers they have made good progress updating the gameplay I think. I'm really excited for all of the new stuff they will be bringing to the game.
You know, I was one of the many laughing at the guy who made the post about a class action suit, but there HAS to be SOME kind of checks/balances system for this industry, other than the game just failing, or you have stuff like this happening more often. They have NO fear of reprisals when the game falls apart, and they still get our non refundable money even if we never get to play the game one day after launch. If Cryptic folded the game up after the launch day and said they cxouldnt do it for swome rewason or whatever, NOONE could sue them or anything. Theyd have gottem all that money, we'd all be out our moneuy, and they still wouldnt be liable for any of it.
