During a pvp match I watched this one guy engage 3 on 1 or more odds and just keep killing until he was close to death then he would just full impulse away.....
Made it impossible to kill him as he would always run away and it was very fast so you could not follow...or finish him off, he would just repeat this with others so you could never kill them but they could always kill you.....
What skill is this that allows you to go full impulse speeds in the middle of combat? and what genius thought this would be a good idea in pvp?
You can't full impulse in combat. You can, however, shift power setting to engines, pop an engine battery to kick it up to 125 and hit evasive maneuvers (a skill everyone gets really early).
Heck, even on the default balanced setting the engine battery would get ya to 125 engine power since it adds 75 points.
apparently you never used evasive as a fed ... otherwise you would know that klingons get way more speed out of it and since the duration is the same they can cover more ground
Actually I have encountered a bug with evasive that will on occasion, hurl you up to what seems like full impulse speed. WAY, WAY fatser than evasive can normally put you. I have not been able to reproduce it at will though, it seems to afflict me completely at random, and usually in the kahless expanse.

So when you do PvP and drift to ~5km next to target, and see he is turning his front away you dont have time to use battery +evasive around the same time he does it ?
its still 5km that he needs to get ahead of you and you can even fire while moving and he cant.

imo you are talking about Pug teams and what they do.
our team use battery + evasive always when a target tries to run. ( tho if one of us dont have evasive up we let him go and pick next target ).
