So my friend who has been playing STO keeps getting told to download the 10gig patch when he loads up his launcher. He isn't running thru steam and has the preorder from Gamestop like I do.

Is there any way to fix this? And why does it keep trying to download the whole 10gigs again??

Thats not a patch you nincampoop. Thats a post crash file checksum He is not downloading anything., it is just initialising.

To avoid this- simply use the game client without the launcher (if he crashes alot)

No that's not what it is doing... We have gone thru the error check before. This isn't happening after a crash.

This is an actual download.. (I know the diffrence between a download and a error check!)

He let the download go the 1st time, and it took about 1 1/2 hours to download.
