If so that is truly unfortunate, as it would be based off of skewed data. As I'm sure many here will agree a large portion of the Klingon faction population have in fact been playing Klinks for over a month now. Were the same cannot be said for the Fed players and to add to that many of them who did play in Open Beta were not focused on PvP.

All I want to know is how can Klingons go to Impulse speed during Combat...(I am really thinking of playing one just to gather the data myself from the inside).

its psuedo impulse speed created by evasive manuevers and an engine battery.

Please test it yourself, because I'm not going impulse during combat, the little button is turned off for me and I've played a Klink non-stop since I unlocked them Friday.

I find their ability to whine OP. They have better means to level on demand, better access to gear and even more specialized ships. One of our classes, science, never receives a dedicated ship--ever. This includes stealth detection, boosts to aux and shields, extra console slots etc.

Klinks doing too much damage is a two-part explanation. There is an effective amount of damage that must be done to result in a player death. This amount must be shared by everyone in the team. It is a relative situation. Klingons have less effective shields and hull at this level, you must do less damage to kill them. The second part is that most klingons are using dual heavy cannons. Only Escorts can do this fedside, and our predilection for targeting them first means they're not very popular. Want to lay down some damage? Get the big guns.

This will change in T3 when both sides have cruisers--although Feds lose their advantage from T2. The K'tinga will be a solid tank/dps with its 4 fore slots and not super terrible maneuverability. In T4 and T5 cruisers cannot fit 45' cannons and perform as well as they could in T3--they were rare at that stage anyways. Having a cruiser helps even the playing field. What won't change is Feds will always have science advantage.

Going "Full Impulse" is achieved by diverting power to engines (about 75 is good) and using evasive maneuvers. Or you can get this faster by using Power to Engines, EPS Power Transfer and/or Engine Batteries. Understanding your power tables (and what they can do for you) is pretty crucial for understanding how combat will play out.

Yup I am new to STO..that is why I am asking, I held off during OB and only went to grade 5 just to get the feel of the game but did not want to burn out myself before launch.

Anyways, thank you for the answers I will try this out as well, it surprised me greatly, a BOP under Phaser fire from 4 feds, and still managed to go from 4km to 16km and out of Weapons fire. Conversely I never been able to do that under fire...yet, but I am working on it

Actually, it is combat impulse. No one told the Feds, and in fact, there was a secret patch note in Klingon, no less. Once it was translated by a few of the hardcore speakers, we pretty much emailed/pm'ed one another about it. Hit shift+full_impulse and you get combat impulse. Like evasive only you don't need to max engine power beforehand.

I know, I've betrayed my fellow Klingons. Could someone in my guild kill me please? Qapla'. Hagon, you can has my stuff.

I don't know how many of you have ever played Planetside, but this was a common problem there too...

For the longest time the supposed 'easy mode' faction was the New Conglomerate (NC) and they had weapons you could just point and spray. Then there was the other end of the spectrum, the Vanu Sovereignty (VS) who were gimped for the first 2-3 years.

Like in this game, where the Klinks complain that the Feds lack teamwork and general tactical thought, the VS would say the same about the NC. The funny thing about Planetside too was that the populations were usually skewed to about 23%VS/45%NC/32% Other faction; it was interesting that all Vanu players would just adapt to their crap-tastic gear and overcome the mindless zerglings.

The problem comes with the screaming for nerfs. Genuine player skill, to a typical zergling (or fed ball'ling) looks for all the world like over powered game skills. I can only plead with Cryptic to not pay any attention to the forum whiners, and instead go and observe some actual PVP battles to see the balance yourselves.

Me thinks you would be surprised at how many times a Klink team of smaller size completely upsets a fed team of greater size through tactics, and I also think you would be surprised by how quickly those @names turn up here to complain.

I am a fed player and I say that everything seems pretty well balanced atm.
