Okay, here's the issue:

I have a Dell desktop with a 2.6 GHz dual core processor, 3 GB RAM and Windows 7. STO runs okay on it (not great because the onboard graphics card is an old GeForce 6-series, but whattya gonna do?), but I know Ubuntu uses less RAM than Windows 7 does.

I'd like to play STO on Ubuntu 9.10, but I never had any real luck getting WoW to run on that OS on my previous desktop (which fit all the min specs for WoW).

Anyone tried running STO on Ubuntu yet? If you did, what did you use? Play On PC? Wine? Any pointers for an Ubuntu noob like me?

people have gotten it to run on wine but you need to compile it from source with hacks. Here is the thread
