Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
It said im fighting at level 10 but i didnt get promoted yet i have 6100 points
i thought i had to spend 6700 to rank up and get my new ship? So how does that work?
I can choose any ship i want in the shipyard right? Or do i have to pay for the ship with something else?
In order: To get promoted, you need to spend 6,700 points. This will likely happen sometime around the time you're Lieutenant 11. You will not get promoted until you spend the requisite minimum amount of points.
You're then offered a quest (that you must be on Earth Stardock personally to complete) and a Plaque that is good for one ship upon turn-in: An Escort, Cruiser, or Science Vessel.
Each ship has 3 base models that you can mix-and-match parts with. Any other ships you want to acquire must be purchased with Energy credits.
so once i level up, what is the best escort ship to get? or should i stick with base model and save money for tier 5 ship?
There is only one escort model at tier 2 that you can get, so there isn't any real choice. There are technically 3 "classes" of tier 2 escort, but the classes differ only in appearance; there is no functional difference between them.
You get to choose one new ship of the appropriate tier for free at each promotion, so you do not have to worry about saving up for a new ship. You only have to spend money on ships if you want to buy another ship of the same tier.
You'll, presumably, get a new Plaque every rank-up that will provide you with a free ship at least once. I don't think you'll ever have to buy a ship unless you want two of any one tier. >> Sorry about being unclear there.
And until Tier 5, there's only one 'type' per category. But, they're customizable off three models per-category. Each Escort ship is fundamentally the same, but can look different depending on how you customize it (just like your starter Light Cruiser can be).
