Thats good to hear. I was starting to feel like it was dragging a bit.

As far as doing missions and junk, do things get any better once you get to level 10+
If you repeat the same stuff over and over, it will get boring. Any game you play really.

STO has the advantage of having many different things to do IF you want them. You still could simply grind the same missions over and over again.

If you are feeling bored, try to select a few missions, give them a read through and see which one's you want to do in what order.

Try a patrol, then a PVP round, after that explore some and then pick up a classic episode mission.

Patrols tend to keep you moving and are nice for when you just want to be casual.

Secure is more like a good PvE practice area where you can refine your skills and gain some xp and loot wile you're at it.

Exploration is supposed to be more varied, and I've had some mixed feelings on it right now, but it does offer some decent missions and tasks to complete.

PvP is good. I am NOT a normal PvPer and tend to hate it, but in STO, I am becoming a main-PvP guy.

Episodes tend to be named missions like "War is Good for Business" and such. They offer compelling story lines as well as varied activities. The key to enjoying these is to READ them. I know it is tough to read through it all, but trust me, it's worth it. I am trying to stop rushing through the text and reading the stories. They are done quite well.

Additionally, STO at times is very task consuming, which means little time to interact with others. While it is not needed that you team up, it makes the experience exponentially better. As well, it is definately worth it to just chat. Stop doing missions, and just get to know people, see the sights, browse the exchange, etc.

Anyway, remember, it is still a GAME and truly, might not be the game for you. If that is the case, too bad really, but remember, fun > all.

Yeah, the game gets a lot better at Tier 2. Be it an Escort, Science Vessel, or Cruiser.

That said, knowing that I'd have to restart in a Miranda does provide impetus to not make a lot of alts...

I look forward to it. I did manage to get to LT-8 before my pre-order came in. Then I got my Constitution Class Cruiser. I know it is basically a MIranda with one extra station.... but I was having just because it looked different. I really hated the Miranda, but I'm VERY happy in the Constitution.

I got to LT-10 just before dinner. Hopefully if there are no queues, I can get to LCDR tonight.

you can always customize your t1, i haven't had a plain miranda yet. past the tutorial of course. (wish they'd let you skp it and just let you be lt at earth for alts). And i thought my ship looked funny when i started with my main on Live vs beta, it was because i had a centaur class cause i switched it to straight miranda when i went to customize it cause i thought i was going crazy. So it made things alittle better, but now i've got my const class and i'm really happy! minus once you upgrade phasers they're not blue anymore.

To the OP - Congratulations!

For me leveling has had a steady rate of growth with regards to my enjoyment as each new skill/ship affords more options and choices when engaging the enemy making the fights much more interesting. The enemy likewise grows in its skill sets and can surprise you if inattentive.

I think what makes Lt CMDR so much fun is it's just MORE. new skills, new ship. you dont get anything NEW dureing yer miranda days after you've got your bridge crew assembled, just passive increases to skills.
