I haven't tested T4 cruisers either, but I've been avoiding taking cruisers simply because there's the mighty Federation Battle Pig (aka Galaxy Cruiser) waiting to be bored out of my mind at. How much does the turn time change with Evasive Maneuvers?
Didn't think to try this, so just did it.
48 Aux, using Evasive, 49 seconds to make the full 360 degree turn. What it looks like it does is max my engine and aux, so I go faster and turn as much as max aux would allow, that's all.
The Ent D also died to a Klingon BOP after a few torpedo shots to the hull while barely firing back. You don't want to follow canon too closely...
LOL, yeah, but you have to admit that there were 1-2 extenuating circumstances. Any ship could die the way that one died, using a method that devious. That, and Riker's not the wisest Capt in the fleet to begin with.
Well that, or any semi-competent tactical officer noticing that Geordi was broadcasting and tracing it down before putting him back on duty.
"You were tortured and they took your visor? That's ok, you can go right back to being on duty, no question's asked."
It's a pity that the show's writers made up some very godawful plot devices to kill off the old ship to tear down the old sets to make way for the new Voyager sets. This is the actual reason they took out the Ent D in the end.
So we had:
- Riker (who beat the ******n Borg and saved Picard) suddenly forget how to rapidly vapourise a 100 foot long obsolete scout ship while he was commanding the Federations's most powerful battleship of the time.
- Georgie who must have been hit on the head a few times while being Soran's prisoner because he knew how to rotate shield frequencies all the time in the TNG series.
- The Enterprise for not withstanding hull strikes from old Klingon weaponry when the previously mentioned Borg hit it in the same spot on the engineering hull in Best of both Worlds with their supremely advanced cutting beams!
I've played with every possible power combination, none of them affect rotation. The only thing that helps me speed my turn is consoles, and I've more important things to put into those slots than "please turn less like a pig".
You, sir, have just insulted pigs everywhere. The pig is fairly nimble when it wants to be.
I see the T4 Fed Cruiser turn rate somewhere between Beached Whale and Discarded Sneaker.
All kidding aside, Aux Power and Evasive Maneuvers DO affect the turn rate of the lower tier cruisers. If they don't affect the T4 (not had a chance to try one, just have seen them in "action"), then there might be something screwy going on...
If they don't fix this I may stop at T3 for Crus and stick with SVs the rest of the way up to Admiral. If they had the turn rates tick up like they mostly do for the other classes, Crus would still be lower than all the rest, but flying a Galaxy wouldn't feel like you're flying the galaxy.
The T5s turn more quickly. You could just stick with your T3 until you hit T5. Saves points training the T4 ship skills too.
