Yes, heard it here first, the new patch has had some positive effects it seems!
Less lag than since the start of Headstart for Ground movement (Can walk around without rubberbanding or hitching all the time) - though theres still a small lag when you click on/target an NPC/player.
Space seems a little smoother.
Here's hoping it has also increased server stability
Anyone else noticed its a little smoother so far? Fingers crossed! *closes eyes*
I can't help but wonder if they are increasing the tolerance of packet delays or something. I've noticed a LOT of lag complaints from European locations. I have seen none. No rubberbanding, no load delays. The game has been playing as smooth as silk for me both in OB and in the Headstart.
I am in Phoenix, Arizona with a sub-60ms ping time to the Cryptic servers according to their test tool. I think the non-US ping times are a large symptom of the problems that non-US centric players are having with regards to the client wanting updates faster than physics will allow. Something tells me that part of the patching they are doing is increasing the tolerance of the client to real life Internet packet routing.
Now if only I could get those Bridge Officers that the game keeps promising I am receiving.
